First Day Class

Please consider taking Art 103B (Art History 1300-Present) as a companion to this class.  It really helps a lot.

Value

Drawing the basic shapes.
Please have a 9"x12" (or larger) sketchbook and a 6B or 8B or best 9B pencil (or woodless graphite pencil) and a kneaded eraser.

Homework: In your sketchbook, a drawing of page 1 and page 2 from this document.

Please print out the above document and bring it to class.  You will be painting from it.

Demo/Project:
Sphere and Cube in 
monochrome.  Lamp black and white painting wipe out method and wet into wet.
